106th (Yeomanry) Regiment Royal Artillery
On October 24, I had the incredible opportunity of capturing the 106th (Yeomanry) Regiment Royal Artillery during their annual camp at the picturesque Air Defence Range in Manorbier, Tenby, located along the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast. Such opportunities to bring the entire Regiment together don’t present themselves too often, especially given the dispersed sub-units that are stationed in separate locations from the main headquarters, making this event particularly challenging to coordinate. Timing in conjunction with the regiment’s long-standing and close links to Tenby for live firing exercises, the Commanding Officer and Regimental Sergeant Major were eager to create a memorable photo that would serve as a lasting tribute, especially since the unit had not had a proper photograph taken in several years. On a quick side note, it's important to highlight that many units are becoming hesitant to coordinate group photos due to the upfront costs associated with booking a photographer. Having served and fully understanding the financial constraints faced by units and sub-units, I have decided to waive my retainer fee, meaning there is no upfront cost for the booking. If your thinking of arranging your next unit photo get in touch to discuss.
Thank you to WO1 (RSM) Luke Price for arranging the shoot.
The unit photo, which I titled ‘Dawn’ stunningly captures the Regiment on the Air Defence Ranges beautifully, with the breathtaking morning sun rising behind them, treating us to an unforgettable view and a maker in the Regimental history books.
Following the regimental photo 265 Battery Royal Artillery took advantage of having me there and requested and subunit photo.
Thank you to 265 Battery.
