The First of Many… 12 RA - 12 Minden Battery
The first of many memorable Military photos and the phone call that ignited it all… You have to truly appreciate the Old Boy’s Military network; having previously served alongside this Regiment, I received a call from an old friend whom I hadn’t spoken to in quite a while. "How’s Civvi Street treating you? What have you been up to lately? Are you still taking photographs and making picture frames?". I replied, "Yes mate, absolutely!" He then continued, "Brilliant! Do me a favour. Could you drive from your home in Doncaster to Thorney Island and take a photo of the Battery? And while you’re at it, would you mind nipping over to Colchester to grab a photo of the Dakota Gate Guardian, slap it in the background and then print and frame it in a way that the Battery will love?" My response was,"Ok, on it!" From that point forward, I realized that this was indeed the direction I wanted my business to take. Although I still hold a deep-seated passion for the Military and genuinely enjoy being amongst all of them, I felt incredibly fortunate that I understood the format well and knew what was expected to ensure a unit history-worthy image was captured. I truly feel privileged to contribute to the rich history of the unit, as I create lasting images that Officers’ and Soldiers’ alike will look back on in years to come, fondly reminiscing about those significant days that hold so much meaning to them.
Big thank you to Martin Cartwright ;)
Before & After - Illustrating what is possible for your Unit photo.
If your unit is looking for a knowledgeable Photographer and Framer, please get in touch via the contact page, let’s discuss what you want and how we can connect the dots and make it happen. Having served, I fully understand the difficulties of getting everyone together, never mind trying to get them all coached to a separate location, time and other commitments, it’s just not always possible. With me, we can create the image you envisaged and get the unit's Historical wall-worthy framed photo.
